The “Natural Hazard Disclosure Law” became effective on June 1, 1998 and was amended as of January 1, 2000 by Assembly Bill 248. The law requires that, before the completion of the property sale, the seller disclose any “material facts” that could possibly affect (1) the value of the property, (2) the ability to develop, or (3) the safety of the occupants.
This disclosure requirement applies to all “real property” transactions and mandates the use of the Natural Hazard Disclosure form appearing in the Seller Assist Program Documentation page on this site.
